Lacey Lacey

As would any girl, I'm hook line and sinker in love with laces. Laces are romantic, glamorous, ladylike and edgy. I think they have a little Parisian feel to them.

I bought this lacey silk dress 3 odd years ago and it is still one of my proud asset. It is also a testimony to the fact that fashion repeats itself. So, dust off your lacey dresses, skirts, headband and match steps with latest fashion.

Have a lovely week ahead

Birthdays!

Dress & Necklace: Zara (Checked Dress)

Every year when I turn a year older, it is not easy to come to terms with all the mix up mystification going on in my head so henceforth I've decided to look at the brighter side namely at the perks of getting old ;)

Well to start with as they say, wise and old go hand in hand, I think I can certainly use some more of that.
Appreciate what I have more than ever, although getting splurged in a new dress once in a while won’t harm anyone.
Can say no or sorry without giving up my ground like “I am sorry I have to bring you down because you cannot take advantage of my niceness.”
Come to understanding that parents are right after all and start making up to mom and dad for all the times I screwed up and made them mad.
Know my drinking limits but I can push them from time to time.
Most importantly, money matters but values and relationships seem to be making to the top.

Now that I have certainly made peace with yet another birthday, I must confess that this year’s was the best birthday ever. Thanks to my man - he makes me feel special not only a day, a week, but for the lifetime. I have heard that with age comes experience, which accounts for better choices in life. As far as I am concerned, I’ll leave it up to you to decide if my choice of dress for the day was good enough to justify the experience :))

Have a nice week!

Careless Pants

Without defying my love for structured clothing, I must admit that I often slip into loose sweats or pants - they are as snug as a bug in a rug and take no sweat to style. Fitted/semi fitted top are most compatible with these pants. Loose on loose outfit is not flattering at all.

Showing off ankles with a loose pant is a big contrast which flaunts the legs. Complete the look with pointed heels. Or you can cover your heels with loose flowy pants to create illusion of long model legs.

My personal favorite is loose trouser with a fitted top and structured blazer. Wow! I just got another post idea ;)

Breakfast Like A King

“Eat Breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dine like a pauper”
I came across this wonderful breakfast idea a week ago while I was out to cheer my friend's daughter for a mini race event. After witnessing the epic cuteness of kids
I was almost famished by the end so we went to a cafe around the corner in Östermalm. I ordered the only veggie option they had - Chèvre toast with lettuce, apples, walnuts, red onions dressed with honey, black pepper and balsamic vinaigrette - and it was exquisite!

I was so impressed by the flavors that I decided to try this at home the very next day. It honestly turned out to be one of the best breakfast ever and the best part there's no cooking involved.

How to do it:

- Toast two slices of bread
- Place a lettuce leaf on one of the toast
- Keep generous pieces of Chèvre on lettuce- Chèvre is a soft french cheese made from goat milk
- Places sliced apple on the cheese
- Sprinkle black pepper, a tbsp of red onions and few drops of balsamic
- Top it with walnuts and honey
- Style the other toast on top like a garnish

Have breakfast like it's Sunday everyday and Stay healthy!

In the Loving Memory of Summer

In the loving memory of summer... Could it be true that autumn is finally setting it's foot in?

Well about the outfit - full black is a safe bet, isn't it! However a cheery flaunting jacket is just perfect to take simple black in to an evening outfit.

Have a nice evening!

Dress It Up

This post scream out to those who wear T-shirts with "I don't care what I wear" attitude but within walls have a clammed up desire to be stylish without quitting comfort.

Oh come on folks, you don't have to conceal your desire behind the muted workaday t-shirt, just dress-it-up like I did with a structured waistcoat.

As simple a tee can be, with a tasteful twist would easily pass for a chirpy day out or an evening ensemble. This waistcoat is a rescue to almost all my not-so-cool-by-itself t-shirts!

I'll fill you up with more dress up t-shirt ideas in future posts. Meanwhile if you have any, I'm all yours

MIDSUMMER

I must admit that I've become a little dilly-dally after the Greek vacation. I seem to have have taken their Greek motto "Siga Siga" a bit too seriously ;) that's why writing this post after a week.

After returning from Crete while I was trying to make peace with not so warm Stockholm, there came my favorite Swedish Midsummer break. I love watching dances around Maypole, making crowns, having picnic, the warm weather and the never setting sun. However a little somewhere in me was low for the days would get shorter and the sun would get weaker after this day.

All-embracing I had super fun with my lovely people and hope you all had a great day too :)

HOMEY

Once the staple for mechanics in 70s, Dungarees are now walking out on the streets big way. Style it with a baggy t-shirt, a printed shirt or a crop top. I can't seem to get enough of this cool comfy fashion, I am sure you will hook on if you try it.

I'm on a look out for a black ankle length dungaree with polka dots, shout out to me if you happen to find one.

Have 'fun' with fashion!

Flowers make me Smile

Flowers make me smile and so does the rising sun,
I smile when I'm happy and I smile in confusion.

Smile is contagious just like the flu,
When someone smiled at me today I started smiling too

....In this look I am styling my favorite chambray in a new way. White and blue is a classic combo and the touch of red to everything is just what makes me smile.

Practical Spring Styling

A beautiful day in Stockholm brings with it a lot of joy and people out on the streets. I'm one of those enthusiasts who likes to parade around the city as my weather app shows anything above 10 degrees.

I was out to shoot Stadshuset on the day and ended up having my own outfit shots. I was in a casual mode so layered up shorts with leggings, simply because it wasn't 25 degrees. I like this practical spring styling as I have zero tolerance for cold.

I managed to take some nice shots of Stadshus, can't wait to share it with you in my next post.

Have a nice weekend folks!

...... turning moments into memories!

A weekend to remember

All those who know me by now, would have observed how much I love combining sporty with girly. Here's yet another version of it ;) The red baseball t-shirt from Gina Tricot always likes it with frilly dark skirts. The peplum skirt from Zara was my favorite pick from their autumn collection. I have worn it so many times and still I have many summery looks in mind with this masterpiece, which I will share with you once we officially are out of the cold grip.

This outfit was snapped on the last days of the most awaited Easter holidays. Easter this year was full of sun and fun, get togethers and dinners, cocktails and shots. On the last day I went out with family and friends to "Vapiano" the always happening Italian food corner. I love their cook in front of you concept and the pasta combos on their days special "Dagens Special' menu are winners. They're always refreshing and packed with seasonal veggies. I learnt from a friend - to order the best dish in Vapiano, admire the cook and ask for his recommendation so now I follow that tip to the core and luckily no disappointments yet :))

OOTD Sunday 24-03-2013

Another weekend bites the dust! Okay, this weekend was a mixed bag. I didn't get everything done I wanted to but I did accomplish a few things. Had a brilliant full attendance girls night out on Friday (pics still waiting to come out of my camera). Found an excellent landscape photography location on Saturday but the camera battery died just at the time. Went back to the spot on Sunday, took some good shots but apparently the photos which made me proud on the small camera screen weren't as mind-blowing on the laptop. UGH! So am planning to use Easter holidays for full day photo walks. God please no sub-zeros and overcast days during Easter #fingerscrossed!

But hey, I had a great time with my nomadic coffee lover twin who likes to wander around in freezing Stockholm and keeps up with my unlimited photo stops and change of lenses. She's such a sweetheart to never to say no :-) Here is an outfit pic from my talented friend behind the lens. We took this pic in Espresso House Gamla Stan as we desperately needed to grab a coffee mug to inject life into our cold numb fingers and this was the only cafe open after 19:00. How I wish Stockholm had some cafe night life too!

Hope you like my 'run of the mill' OOTD and wish you all a wonderful week ahead!
